The Scarab Chest is a framework of dark polished steel supported by four legs that terminate in a claw-foot.

 

Hammered copper panels, rich in colour and texture form the sides.  The bottom is lined with maple and the lid is solid Purple Heart hardwood.

 

A finely inscribed scarab, a symbol of eternity, adorns the front of this chest.  A lock is hidden behind a dome that swings to one side to reveal the keyway.
